IT ALL BEGINS WITH A REVERENCE FOR TIME

Article 8 of the Tribe Conversation

It appears to me that until one comes to a resolute reverence for their time, there isn’t much behind any attempt at deep conscious work. The end of our time here, the way that we know and experience it, will come for all of us. You can avoid the reminder of that, or you can choose to value each precious moment in a way that causes a commitment to it.

Time cannot be managed. It cannot be slowed down, paused, or fast forwarded. It cannot be regenerated, saved, or banked. Time itself cannot be leveraged to garner more. There is a finite amount for you and me to do what is called, “Living”, and when we become more aware of this, we might choose to live it better.

Only what we contribute to the space inside the moment can be managed through stewardship and investment. Recognize that all you really have is this moment and inside the moment is the space you are in relation with. There is no relation in the space of the future or past, only the memory of the past and the imagination of the future, in which there is not much you can do but be in the relation of the space of the thought in that moment.

I am writing this way for one reason and one reason only, and that is to illustrate there is only one small moment of life that we need to be conscious and master. You do not have to be great, but you can live great moments. You do not have to be smart, but you can live smart moments. You do not have to have all the answers, but you can have enough for this moment to be your highest and best.

This does not mean we do not plan for the future or reconcile the past from time to time. It does not mean we do not need to expand our knowledge or manage some of life in scope. This means that we commit to conscious presence where we can make the most impact, which is now.

With a resolute reverence for time, we begin to master our art of choice and that is why the deep conscious work makes so much sense. I am doing the work to master the art of choice, so I am at cause within my moments, not effect.
